A quick tale of my music journey

Traveler picks up the guitar

I picked up a guitar in May of 2020 without knowing how to play a note, a chord, or do much of anything with the guitar.  I practiced very rigorously in the beginning, expanding to teach myself how to read music (very slowly), how to read guitar tablature, understanding music theory in relation to the guitar, adding guitar techniques, and building a solid foundation with a good meter that could serve as the pilar of my guitar journey.

About a year later, I was playing in my garage in front of a few buddies and they all said “Dude, you gotta get out there.  Don’t just sit in your garage and play.  Go share your music with the world”.  So I did.  I’m very glad that I took the bold move of playing out in public relatively early in the process.  My first few gigs were likely rough, but I was able to start building upon my local reputation very early in the process.

Fast forward a couple of years, and I have around 100 gigs under my belt.  I have played all over Western NY, as well as breaking into Northern, PA.  I have sufficient equipment to play at any sized event, inside or outside, and I straight up just really enjoy performing!

I have many future goals and intentions.  I want to write more original music and hopefully release an album in the near future.  I have progressively played with more musicians, and I intend to have at least a part-time band within the next year for bigger events.  Stay tuned!
